The end of 2007: was it a good year for you?

Was it a good year for you, middling or downright awful?

I’m sure that I’m like many people in it being all three! Good in terms of things like the achievement of a university diploma in Spanish and website developments, middling in terms of lots of stuff I suppose and, so far, not downright awful in anything in particular.

Of course, everyone’s wondering what 2008 will turn out like at the moment, or will be in the morning after they get over the hangover :)

Postcard from Valencia

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

We had a short-break to Valencia for Christmas, the organisation of which ate up time like you wouldn’t believe, hence the big gap in posts here.

What’s in Valencia? Well, it’s something of a mix of old and new on quite a grand scale. There’s the liveliness of Barcelona without the feeling of mad-dash rushing around. Overall, excellent.

From the old you’ve quite a substantial old section in the city with a collection of elegant cathedrals and cute cobbled streets. The new is a massive arts and science museum amongst many other aspects around the city. It’s a very lively city at night but relatively quiet during the day despite being the third largest city in Spain.
